The Edge of the Metaphor

The Edge of the Metaphor
Originally uploaded by ciboney.
The Edge of the Metaphor includes mainly the poets, who through poetic symbols (The French poets are leaders in such type of poetry), visionary trances and metaphors are successful in confronting the inner and external realities. These poets reveal that poetry is more than common metaphor and analogies, and their poems reach deeper. We will not find in The Edge of the Metaphor poems, which are full of monotonous dreams and vague fancies. Here are some extraordinary compositions revealing the bitter truth and realities of the new millennium.

Voyage

Voyage
Originally uploaded by ciboney.
Voyages by Cyberwit.net, India, pp. 318 features poets characterized by the iridescent color of imagination and accuracy of observation. They add a new light to what they experience and feel. The poets from Europe and other countries exhibit a simple force and chaste tenderness. Music comes spontaneously to these artists from USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Germany, France, Portugal, Japan, India etc. Voyages contains some of the finest lyrics in English; they reveal artistic workmanship. The most striking feature of these poems is a temperament most rich and soft, yet most robust. The variety of poems is not due to the "clash of civilizations." Voyages is a special case; it assimilates poems from diverse nations, and presents a homogenous world of poetry. Several poets of Voyages have been influenced by Ferlinghetti, Ginsberg and Bob Dylan. The publication of world poetry anthologies by Cyberwit makes the real beginning of poetry in English in the new millennium. Voyages is a book for those who love poetry and are endowed with a poetic temperament; it will inspire others to become poets, who alone are the chosen agents of God. A delicate fancy and sublimity, which had largely been a tradition since Shakespeare, is again shown in the Voyages.

Symphonies

Symphonies
Originally uploaded by ciboney.
The poems included in Symphonies will surely deepen and purify our normal existence. In several poets, we notice a decided opposition between the artist and society. Symphonies shows that the poets have a greater knowledge of life and a more comprehensive soul than a common person. Besides, by a deft use of their power of imagination, the poets are able to unravel the mystery of life, and to reveal uncommonness in the ordinary things of life. The imagery in the poems is clear and delicate. Several poems in Symphonies exalt and widen the spiritual vision, and the aim of such poets seems "to console the afflicted, to add sunshine to daylight by making the happy happier, to teach the young and the gracious of every age to see, to think and feel, and therefore to become more actively and securely virtuous." On the contrary, some of the poets in Symphonies concentrate on the ugliness, pain and violent terrorism in the new millennium. You can see the poet's "hurts were spinal." The Symphonies poets are at their best as literary artist. Many poets in Symphonies seem to follow the advice of T. E. Hulme (1888-1917): "Poetry should restrict itself to the world perceived by the senses, and to the presentation of its themes in a succession of concise, clearly visualized, concrete images accurate in detail and precise in significance." The conscious and deliberate pursuit of hard and dry images and 'vers libre' at times results in obscurity, and this has been avoided by the selected poets of Symphonies.

The Golden Wings

The Golden Wings
Originally uploaded by ciboney.
The Golden Wings by Cyberwit.net, India, pp.320 contains remarkable, flawless and highly artistic poems from all over the world. The poems included in The Golden Wings reveal a finality of grace and dignity, and the highest poetic triumph of the European writers and other countries. The poems from USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Italy, Australia, Argentina, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Nigeria, Japan etc. reflect the sure perfection of rhythm and diction. An artistic excellence characterises The Golden Wings by virtue of the imaginative power, passionate emotions and moral earnestness of the poems. A striking feature of The Golden Wings is a large number of American poets who reveal compactness, force, reserve, and the unity of emotional impression. The merit of these poets lies less in its obvious meaning than in its occult power. The poems chosen and included in The Golden Wings make it evident that the art of poetry is no triviality, no mere entertainment, but a sublime and serious thing.

"A LETTER FOR MAHAL, MY LOVE"
(Editors' Choice Award, 2003 - ILP,USA, featured in the Symphonies, India 2004)

Dear one
I just would like to tell you
that my love is like thunder
And my feeling is lightning

I love you more than ever
I could feel it in my veins
I could see it in the open
It is falling like rain

I adore you
You are roses red and green
Your smile is just like wind
Your face is like a dream

Touch me, my dear
Hear my heart, it's singing
My voice is just like swinging
My love is never-ending

Deeply as a sorrow
Living as a shadow
Life of mine might end
But my love is for eternity.

The Poets Loft Presents,
"The Friend Of Dorothy"
By: Darius Gabriel Bugarin

Honestly, I’m in love with Dorothy. I really admire her beauty and brain But she doesn’t like me I have just found out that she’s a lesbian And admires a woman, named Andrea Andrea whom have got crush on me And she doesn’t know about that. One time, Dorothy have approached me She have asked me a favor To make Andrea more closer to her And love her as she did. That time, she already knew That Andrea admires me too since our childhood And she’s jealous about it And feared to loose Andrea And so she have made a deal with me That we, all together in a three way relationship I supposed. The next time we’ve met as I’ve set everything We have celebrated the day without any occasion Have drink champagne, vodka, tequila and gin Until we all became drunk, and soundless. Then suddenly, Dorothy looked at Andrea With her passionate desire And kissed her on her lips And While Andrea’s staring at me And inviting me to join them And so I came And kissed Dorothy on her left shoulder But she have ignored me And said, “it’s not yet the time” Then turned her back on me, again. When I’m about to step away As I feel jealous and embarrassed Andrea stopped me and said “No! Come here John. Join us!” Dorothy wasn’t able to disagree And as Andrea have asked me to remove my clothes And slowly touches my breast while I’m removing my shirt Then kissed my hand up to my shoulder Until she have reached my lips. I begin to like it So I’ve returned her kiss And she loved it. But again, I still try to kiss Dorothy But she still ignored me Then turned her back on me, again And have left without saying anything. Then suddenly, Andrea came closer to me, again And have kissed me so torridly While her hands taking off my pants Then lay on bed, naked And so, I’m a man We make love together. After a week Dorothy and I have met again She have invited me to her place for a drink She have admitted that she lose And so, she’s giving herself to me. I’ve looked at her in the eye That maybe she’s just playing a game But she have looked down on her toes Ashamed, -- and so I’ve asked her a question “Why?...” and she has never responded. Then surprisingly, she have kissed me And squeezed me so tight and said “I was wrong of telling you that I don’t like you!” And that’s it… I was really shocked, but I’m flattered and happy And so I’ve embraced her with love And that was because of my excitement. At last!... she’s already awake Awaken by the truth Thanks to Andrea.

The Poets Loft Presents:
"I AM GAY"
By: Darius Gabriel Bugarin
I used to stare and count the stars and waves out of the cold wind; lying alone on my bed with no one but my lumpy pillows and duvet; dreaming of having the right one… and I have met Ana— she was so charming and nice, and beautiful and understanding; but then, I feel different for her, -just like a sister— … we’ve made our first night colourful, anyway. in the same place, few weeks ago after my break-up with her; I’ve met another woman, -Jeanette— I’ve caught her staring at me when I’m on my back at her; and so I’ve acknowledge her with the blink of my eyes; and she’ve responded the same with her sweetest smile— I stood-up and went to the toilet for a while to pee; and she have followed me, -and so, I’ve cornered her, and asked, why? she’ve looked at me in the eyes but never responded; then suddenly we’ve kissed so passionately, and embraced me so tights— … then the night became so wonderful, -holding our breath together. in the morning I woke-up with the smile— unlike my previous days that was full of imaginations and hopes; she’ve bought me a flower and served me breakfast on bed; she was so sweet— a week after she’ve introduced me to her family— I was really ashamed but was flattered; some said that she’ve been already into many unsuccessful relationships; but I’m not bothered by that… even though she’ve suffered from any pain; and being left alone— we’ve been together only for a month, as I’ve needed to go back to work; in England, where, -I was destined for at least six months of contract— we used to communicate through text messages; and at least an hour every week, or every other day— but things have changed us… the feelings are not the same anymore— I have just heard she’s been dating someone, and will marry soon; so we just became friends in the end. in England, I’ve met different kinds of people— some are straights, some are gays, lesbians, and even couples and divorced— some of them were only into sex, and not into the relationship that I’m longing for. I used to asked myself, why?... I’m not that ugly? … and I haven’t got any answer, until now— still gaining more experiences, and pains, and disappointments— there were ladies who likes me, but I don’t like them; there were singles who likes me, but I don’t like them; there were some serious, but not serious enough for me; there were some divorced who likes me, but I don’t like them; and there were some gays too who likes me, but I don’t like them— and there were many more things will happen for me in the future— some think that I am gay, but I don’t know; and I don’t really know what I like too!... and I wonder who I am?... but actually, I have found out just recently that I am gay; a happy man, I mean—still enjoying a single life.

TAGALOG SHORT STORIES

Paniwalaan in'yo siya at kayo'y maliligtas."

Ah.,yes sir!
